little miss may

crouching tiger happy merdeka

Ahhh, Spring is almost here.

Almost.

One more day, and it’s officially end of Winter.

The beginning of warmer days and colourful blooms.

So what else is new?

A friend got me started in painting with acrylics. Not little tubes of watercolour on a plastic palette and art block, but fully propped with an easel, canvas and all sorts of brushes. There were so many things I could’ve done as my first piece. I don’t know why, but the tiger caught my attention the most.

See? Tiger.

tiger

Maybe it’s to do with Malaysia’s Independence Day.

Maybe it’s the versatility and cunningness of the animal out in the wild.

Maybe it’s just the adorable white patches behind a tiger’s ears that I just can’t get out of my mind.

Crouching Tiger,
Happy Merdeka.

What shall I paint next?

Nice and beautiful painting. I like the colour scheme, and the interesting composition whereby the tiger faces away from the viewers. :)

    wow, you’re really good.
you should have continued with this gift. don’t hide it. nurture it. the lines joining the object and the background is superb. all seamless. hard to do that. the black tiger lines abit harsh considering you did the rest so well. and the ears too. the line defining the ear. eeks. my critical eye talking. and i can’t paint for nuts!!!
ah may that is so good! where did you learn this technique? obviously i haven’t been able to get anything ’seamless’ for ages.

You really impressed me, May! What am I doing with my life all this while? LOL!

Sense of drawing obviously is not in my blood. But, I am drooling for the Japs and Western cuisine that you prepared (which showed in your previous post). Oh… Just one bite?
