little miss may

dry beach, wet “laundry”!

The weekend’s come and gone! How fast was that? Can’t believe it just flew by in a few blinks of an eye…

It was a cloudy Saturday when Moz and I went for the long, 3-hour coastal walk from Bondi beach to Coogee beach. I had dragged my Brazilian colleague along, and he was charming company to say the least!

bondi, coogee
Clockwise from top right: cliffs near Bondi, mosaic steps, mosaic up-close, swimming pool at Bondi, eggs benedict, iced coffee with whipped cream.

The walk was very, very pleasant — semi-blue skies, cool breeze, clouds rolling in from a distance. We stopped by a cafe along the way to have an early lunch; I ordered eggs benedict with smoked salmon, and some cream-topped iced coffee to wash it down. Totally yummy! Felt guilty after eating all that, but thank goodness the long walk kinda made up for all the calories consumed.

in chinatown
LaundryAmah, famous bakery in Chinatown, custard puffs.

Sunday came and it rained, and rained, and rained. But that didn’t stop us from meeting up with LaundryAmah and her friend, Mr. D! It wasn’t a day to go out for a scenic walk, so we went shopping in Chinatown instead. You should’ve seen her loot, and all of ours put together — it looked like we bought the whole of Paddy’s Market.

blue fish
seafood platter at Blue Fish, the restaurant, fresh oyster.

Evening came, and it was still so very wet. What to do, what to do? Eat, of course! The four of us pigged out on seafood at a restaurant at Darling Harbour. Fresh oysters, lobster, fish, squid, chips, prawns, sweet white wine… the whole lot. How not to get fat?!

Ahhhh… good food, great times, the best company. Thanks for a wonderful time, my dears! I had a fabulous time, one of the best weekends since I came here, ever!

Too bad the weekend’s over. Can’t wait till next week, I could hardly sit still thinking that by this time next Sunday, I’d be enjoying some home-cooked food, perhaps some lormaikai, harkau, Ipoh horfun, assam laksa, some hee-hee-ha-ha company, lots of hugs, kisses, *ahem*…

I’m comin’ home, baby!

moz - 5 HUGS - waaaa, you very good timing hor! thanks for your company too, and for “dragging” me out here and there. otherwise I would’ve been sulking and stuck at home on a rainy day instead. must meet in another city and do the same — back in KL next? *wink*

Samm - 3 HUGS - come tomorrow morning, then we go back to KL same time on Thursday! still can enjoy some good seafood and lots of shopping. jom!

Jemima - 1 HUG - good platter that. I loved the prawn and fish! grilled squid on the side was pretty good too. thanks for the good wishes!

king’s wife - LaundryAmah’s umbrella lor! kept turning up no matter how she pushed it down after that. must buy new umbrella for her for Christmas… kekeke! yup yup, I’ll be back. meet up with the usual gang?

rinnah - strangely enough, I’m longing for another sip of that iced coffee with whipped cream. oh ya hor… I haven’t started packing. must make my list tonight, in case I forget to bring something home…

princess appearl - wah wah wahhhh, the drool! the drool!! *grin*
that Amah ah, say dowan to shop, end up buying quite a few things… LOL! and I also ikut sama, buy some souvenirs home. home? home!

zewt - uh-huh, up in Sydney for a few days, and what a pleasure it was meeting up with her!

Chen - yea, we were kakaka-hahaha-ing all the way to Chinatown, seeing her umbrella turned up like that! luckily the wind wasn’t too strong. so when are you coming lah? oh wait, I’m going back first… come in October, nice weather then. Springtime, lots of flowers.

Kenny Ng - hor! I’m so thankful for such great company for the past 2 weekends. such great fun, I even forgot to sulk, heheh.

sengkor - kambing, kambing… *mehhhh…* *mehhhh…* we go eat ais krim, okeh?

plink - LOLOL!! I love your little riddles! my kambing bag not big enough to put my shopping stuff liao. borrow yours?

  26. May  |  August 20th, 2007 11:24 pm

ehon - maymay phone HOME! yes I most certainly am making a trip, albeit short. wish it was longer. I’m already dreading the day I come back to work… *sigh*
so have you made up your mind to stay in Malaysia on your 21st birthday?

winn - yippee yippee yippeeeee!! we can sampat togeder-geder soon! make sure you call the rest of the sampat gang also, ya…

Wennnn - ooooh, you seem to really know the oysters by name. to me, I only know 2 types — fresh oyster, and bad oyster! LOL! you are good!
that time LaundryAmah still haven’t bought her stuff yet. after that, waaahhhh… one bag, two bag…

Pink Cotton - oh yeah, I can’t wait for this weekend to come. lots of things I want to do, people to see, food to eat!

Giddy Tiger - I’ll be back for a little more than 2 weeks, though I wish it were longer. the days will just fly by in the blink of an eye.

Pinkelle - hurrah! not very long, though. not short enough to make it a total waste, not long enough satisfy my wants. a month off instead would be better!

Nicole - wah sehhhhh, we weren’t sure if it was going to rain, the morning looked a little gloomy… heheh! convenient to drag my colleague along ‘cos he lived in Bondi mah. next time we go, I call you ok! *unzips luggage for you to crawl into*

kyh - when are you going to be in the same city as meh? kekeke!
that’s not a photo of me ler. that’s LaundryAmah. oooh, I must tell her you think she looks like Christy Chung. she’d be really happy!

eve - really?! yay! for how long? really really MUST meet up if we both are in the same city — it’s been way too long!

  27. Kikare  |  August 20th, 2007 11:42 pm

home visit - nice one!! should know what condiments to stock up la? hehe

those mosaic steps are the sweetest thing!

oh re my suggestion of your photo wall, i think it will be nice to get frames of different sizes(even slightly different in style) and just put them together in a spontaneous way. you can start at one corner and gradually build up a whole wall.
    so cool.
