on a mild summer afternoon
It’s been ages and ages and… ages.
Yep. Ages.
So much had happened in the last 6 months, let alone the year. Time certainly has gone on its own momentum and raced to the finished line for 2009 in a matter of rolling moments. Every hour, minute, second, nanosecond… they’re all made up of moments, just one rolling into another like a gentle, continuous wave.
I can’t quite begin to reiterate the past months’ events, there are too many but this I certainly can say - I am very thankful, eternally grateful for my family, and the friends I have, past, present and future.
Still… no harm giving a quick rundown… Maybe in reverse order?

I bought my scooter today, the Sachs Amici, glossy black. Truly fun-looking. Getting delivered tomorrow. I actually haven’t got the hang of riding a scooter yet but I’m sure I’ll get used to it in no time and zipping around town in a couple of months, perhaps… After I’ve plucked up enough courage to share the roads with the big boys, that is.

It’s not all good news at home, my Dad is ill and in a heartbeat I went home to visit for a couple of days over the Christmas hols. It’s so heartbreaking… heart wrenching. If there was one wish I could make, it would be for the cancer to be non-existent in the first place. I thank my family and friends for all the support they’ve given and shown. And utmost gratitude to my family for taking care of him when I’m unable to be there in person. Time for another trip home soon.
Thank God for little angels like this one. Baby Brandon’s been a blessing to the family. Lovable, adorable, smoochable.

Work-wise it’s been a hard day’s night. And a few. Many few, but I’m positive there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. If there’s one thing I learnt, is that work will always be there, so don’t stress it, keep calm and in the words of William Hung, “I already gave my best, and I have no regrets at all”.
On the yoga front, I finished the theoretical exam, the anatomy and physiology test, senior first aid and still have a couple more assignments and the practical to go. Probably won’t “graduate” until March by the looks of things, as I still have quite a lot of practice hours to go. I’m taking my time quite a bit on this one, also because of my preoccupation with other things (re: all of the above). I’m sure I’ll teach a couple of classes before the end of 2010. Of course!
That was some good regurgitation, even if it’s only a few things…
And how have you been, dear reader? Having a good 2010 so far?

climbing in loving memory of
After all the procrastination ever since I landed in Sydney, I finally got off my arse and went rock climbing with a few colleagues of mine yesterday morning. It was like greeting an old friend; the familiar chalky atmosphere, ropes hanging from ceiling height, shoes that squeeze your feet a full size smaller every time you put them on.

It was a good 2 hours of rediscovering what I could and couldn’t do, what I could’ve done many years ago, and where I am right now. Granted I’m definitely not as fit and strong as I used to be, I still enjoyed the challenge of each route.

And ironically… on the same week that I was finally reunited with the sport, I lost something else more precious.
I received news this morning of a friend’s passing. He was one of my old climbing buddies back in KL - strong, agile, humble, always there to encourage you on, a heart of gold - he will be dearly missed by all of us who knew him.
Rest in peace, Liong.

Yup, no prizes for guessing who’s birthday it is today…
It’s none other than the Emperor LB’s! Three cheers are in order - hip hip hip… HOORAY!

It might be an overdose having Hoops and Yoyo sending you birthday wishes twice — both in card and online — but hey, just can’t help lovin’ these critters, yeah? Remember that first e-card? That was so hilarious! Can tahan one more or not? Or three?

In present time,
At Sugarland far far away…
Where fields are green
And stars are white
There roams a Cowboy…
Ok, I’m not very good at making up rhymes… haha! I’m so rusty at doing anything with Illustrator as well, that my artwork has deteriorated tremendously. I think I’m more suited at gawking at pretty drawings than doing any myself. Anyway, getting on with the agenda…
It’s Simple American’s birthday today!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SIMPLE AMERICAN
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU-U-U-U-U-U-U ! ! !
May your day be filled with joy and happiness, lots of foodie-goodies and free from taxes. You may not roam Blogland much these days but you’re definitely still in our hugs. Many happy returns!

It’s never too late to get T H E H U G H U G C L U B ™ results up for February, eh? Granted I’ve been writing less than usual, too busy falling asleep watching TV, working like a semi-slave in the office, playing director and crew for amateur short films, shopping… eating… shopping… you get the drift. But anyway, on with the show.
Congratulations to all the Top Dogs!

Easter is still a good one month away, but the stores are already stocked full of chocolate bunnies and eggs. Look what I found on the shelf — a cute Purple Cadbury Bunny. Such a yummy way to enjoy Easter, don’tcha think?
And such good timing too, for the bunny’s here to help us celebrate a “purple” event - it’s mistipurple’s birthday today!

Just for you on your big day, here’s a very aloha rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow & What a Wonderful World by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. Many Happy Returns my dear, and may you always have wonderful rainbows and moments to enjoy. And lots of chocolate bunnies too.
Also a happy birthday to Cynthia (27 Feb) and Wingz (28 Feb). Hope you all have a great one this year!
